Music speaks directly to our soul.  Melodies take us on fantastical journeys while rhythms pulse in our hearts.  Chaos and simplicity join to become symphony.  Why does music do this to us?  What is the mysterious power of words put to song?

This blog attempts to muse (v. meditate, comment thoughtfully, meditate) on music.  It seeks to ask questions instead of provide answers.  This is not about a genre or an era, but timelessness.  It is not about a culture or a preference, but instead pursues the language of humanity.

Ours is not a language of verbs and nouns, subjects and direct objects; but of melody and harmony, rhythm, lyric, and soul.  Ours is a language without zip codes or time zones.  It does not require a passport for we do not go to it – it brings us places.

We are created beings fashioned in the image of the greatest Creator.  We reflect that creativity in our very existence and when we urge the creative inside of us, it blends with emotion to become art – art that speaks to our souls and speaks of the ultimate Creator.
